Seit Monaten erwartet will Sony eigenem Bekunden nach morgen, 2012-03-22, eine neue Firmware für die professionelle Videokamera NXCAM NEX-FS100 mit E-Bajonett vorstellen, die die folgenden wichtigen Erweiterungen bringt:

• Firmware can be downloaded and installed by customer without sending camcorder to Sony service centre

New Firmware Details for NEX-FS100E

1. 60(59.94)Hz /50Hz (NTSC/PAL) switchable feature
FS100E can have the 60p (59.94p), 60i (59.94i), 30p (29.97p) and 24p (23.98p) recording modes

2. Camera Profile (camera setting saved in a memory card)
It allows users to recall the previous camera settings easily. It also helps multi-camera shooting preparation.

3. Expanded Focus (x4/x8, selectable focus area)
It allows user to select the magnification size and area to be expanded.

4. ISO sensitivity display
For users who are familiar with traditional filming term, it will be possible to switch between ISO and Gain (dB) display.

5. Focus feet, Shutter angle display
For users who are familiar with traditional filming term, it will be possible to switch between feet and meter for focus position display when an E-mount lens is used. Also, switchable between second and degree for shutter speed display.

6. Variation added for "Aspect markers"

7. Compatibility with new A-mount to E-mount adaptor [LA-EA2] with Translucent Mirror Technology
Auto Focus operation is available with Sony A-mount alpha lens

Timing

Firmware upgrades for NEX-FS100U & NEX-FS100UK are planned for March 22, 2012.

Upgrade Cost & Procedure

No cost: follow firmware download instructions from FS100 webpage, connect PC to camera via USB and run user installable upgrade. Optionally, the upgrade may be professionally installed by Sony Professional Service Depots (labor charges apply).

Additional NEX-FS100U & NEX-FS100UK features*

1. Added 50Hz recording system (PAL): 1920x1080 50p, 50i, 25p and 1280x720 50p.
2. Camera Profile (camera settings can be saved to and loaded from a memory card).
3. Additional 4x and 8x Expanded Focus magnification: (with user selectable focus area).
4. Selectable ISO or GAIN sensitivity display.
5. Selectable Focus indication in FEET or METERS (E-mount lens only).
6. Selectable Shutter indication as EXPOSURE TIME or SHUTTER ANGLE.
7. Added the following Aspect-Ratio markers: 2.35:1, 1.85:1 and 1.66:1.
8. Display ON/OFF button enables Zebra and/or Histogram overlay onto video output.
9. Compatible with the new A-Mount to E-Mount adaptor, model LA-EA2. One push Auto-IRIS and continuous 15-point, Phase-Detection Auto-Focus operation with most Alpha A-Mount lenses is available. Lens metadata is displayed onscreen and stored real-time to image file.
